People making news using the sport monopod.

By Cameron

Southern Calif.:

Phil Dent - Taylor Dent

Father - son who were both highly ranked players in their day, have started their own tennis academy in Orange County.  Phil is known for coaching top Pros, like Maria Sharipova, who under his instruction, had a serve that took her to slam wins in Australia and Wimbledon.  No shoulder problem when Phil had her working with him.

Taylor Dent moved from a promising Junior in the USTA, to a world class pro ranked in the top 20 in the world before back problems beset him.   After undergoing surgeries to remedy the various problems brought on by a physically demanding style of play, he made a comeback with near miss losses to top ten players in various tournaments.  Although he rose in world ranking again, he never returned to the form of play that carried him to the top.

You to can learn from two of the best teaching pros in the world now at their academy.  They use the monopod to video form and practice sessions when teaching stroke production and the mental side of the game.  On that side of things, very few know more about the mental side than these two.  find them at: www.denttennisacademy.com  or call

Mickey Yelverson - Seal Beach Racket center..

Mickey is a former WTA Player turned teaching pro and is one of the best at teaching the mental side of the game.  She has a slew of former students with scholarships to major schools in the USA.

All earned from having successful junior play in the SCTA Tournaments.  Many coaches come here to recruit while watching the So Cal Junior sectionals and other national events held here.  Mickey's students can always be found near the top ranks of their age division.

She uses the monopod to video match play and practice sessions also.  A picture is worth a thousand words and the way you can capture play is unequaled she says.  All good when you are trying to communicate with Juniors who are visual oriented.

You can reach her via phone at:  562-533-4997
